- Provided capital campaign consulting to eight successful campaigns, including $200 million land acquisition campaign in Menlo Park, California; $26 million campaign in Palos Verdes, California; and $25 million campaign in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
- Created and produced comprehensive portfolio of fundraising communications, including more than 300 grant proposals (featuring an awarded $1 million Kresge Foundation grant); capital campaign pieces, including eight campaign case statements, volunteer training materials, conservation plans and charts, and donor recognition and engagement pieces; and messaging and branding projects for the Land Trust Alliance and Sierra Institute for Community and Environment.
- Conducted ten board and staff retreats and fourteen fundraising “audits” that have resulted in restructured fundraising operations; all clients have gone on to raise significantly more revenue than before and, in three cases, mount successful capital campaigns.
- Created start-up fundraising program from 2004-2008 for George Mark Children’s House, San Leandro, California, the United States first freestanding, residential facility offering respite and hospice care to very sick children and their families. Hired foundations relations staff, individual giving manager, Raiser’s Edge/data entry staff, and several vendors to provide telemarketing, direct mail, and graphic design services. Raised 66% more income each year until the time my consultancy ended, July 2008, with the final budget topping $4.5 million.
